Based on Dan Shaffer's acclaimed graphic novel, this noir sci-fi action thriller follows Suki, a young woman recently released from a mental hospital who moves into a halfway house. Here she takes part in a new treatment programme that uses the experimental and oddly named 'Siamese Burn machine', designed to rid her of her alternate personalities.
Suki is down to the last of her unwanted multiple identities from using the machine, but around her the residents are dying at an unusual rate. Not knowing what is real or in her head, she is rag-doll one minute, sexual predator the next, and all the while trying to pretend she's doing fine to her shrink.
With a fantastic cast that includes Katie Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg and Gina Gershon, this is finally a comic-book movie that hasn’t been sanitised or overhyped.
This is everything we hoped Sucker Punch would be, only much darker, much sexier, and without the songs and the over-stylised pop video production. This is destined to be a cult favourite.
